AN indoor entertainment hub is getting ready to make its official return to Chester after more than a decade's absence.

The Tenpin bowling alley will officially open its doors next month at Chester Retail Park, the first time the venue has been in the city since it closed at the Greyhound Retail Park in November 2013, at what is now an Asda superstore.

Family-friendly fun will be offered in a variety of ways at the new centre, with the main attraction being 28 lanes of tenpin bowling across two floors, each with lane lighting effects.

Also on offer will be a laser tag arena, four escape rooms 'inspired by Houdini' and two private karaoke rooms.

For food and drink, there will also be two cocktail bars at the new centre, which takes the home of the former Sports Direct and Thrive stores.

Tenpin invested more than £1 million when it relaunched its Cheshire Oaks site in 2019, creating over 25 jobs and featuring the kind of entertainment visitors to the new Chester centre can expect.

Party packages will be available and booking can be made online closer to the launch date.

Writing on the Tenpin Chester website, the venue says: "If you’re looking for things to do in Chester, we’ll provide all the fun you need by the bucketload for a day out with the kids, or night out with friends!

"Treat the little ones to all singing, all dancing bowling party quite literally with bowling, dancing, music, balloon modelling, and tasty pizza to keep them going.

"Our exciting activities don’t end there though, get ready for two private karaoke rooms to show off your singing talents, the ultimate laser tag arena to begin your quest for victory, and four escape rooms by the man himself, Houdini! We also have party packages for laser tag and karaoke so whatever takes you fancy there’s a celebration with your name on it.

"You’ll love our vibrant bar areas with two cocktail bars that’ll be the icing on the cake. Plus, our tasty food menu will make sure no-one goes hungry!"

Tenpin Chester is expected to open to the public from March 29, with opening hours of 10am-midnight from Sunday to Thursday, and 10am-1am on Friday and Saturday.
