RIVER levels remain high on the Dee, with flooding on low-lying land and roads "still possible" today (Thursday, January 25).
The latest update from the Environment Agency states that water levels on the River Dee at Farndon are still "above the flood alert threshold" and this is expected to continue due to further rainfall.
Flood alerts have been in place for the River Dee throughout January with both Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn bringing heavy rain.
The River Dee catchment includes area around Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington.
Residents are being advised to avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
Low-lying Townfield Lane is also expected to remain cut off.
The Met Office is now predicting heavy rain throughout this evening and into the early hours of this morning, having previously expected a drier end to the week.
