AN inquest has been opened after a 51-year-old man from Wirral was found dead in a Chester Travelodge.
Gary McCarthy, 51, was found at the Travel Lodge Chester on Pepper Street earlier this year.
Having checked into the hotel the night before he was found, McCarthy was discovered by cleaning staff the next morning when they came to clear out his room.
Area Coroner Victoria Davis opened an inquest into his death, stating that ‘the cause of death is unnatural’. The inquest was opened today, January 24, at Cheshire Coroner’s Court at St James’ Business Park in Warrington.
An initial inquest date has been set for June 5, 2024.
