STRONG winds caused a tree to fall onto a country lane blocking traffic near Ellesmere Port last night (Tuesday, January 23).
Storm Jocelyn brought gusts of around 50mph to Cheshire West as the storm buffeted the UK on Tuesday evening.
Rake Lane near Little Stanney, which is a well-used route connecting Ellesmere Port and Chester, saw the strength of these winds as a large tree fell across the carriageway.
Cheshire Police confirmed that several reports of a fallen tree on the route were received around 7.20pm.
No injuries were reported.
The incident has since been passed on to the National Highways team.
