AN incident near Chester sparked a major emergency services response.
Two fire engines from Powey Lane and Lymm, the rope rescue unit for Lymm and the rapid response unit from Bollington attended the scene in Seahill Road, Saughall, at about 4.10pm yesterday (Tuesday, January23).
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to help a horse after it became stuck down a ditch.
"Crews removed the horse from the ditch, setting it free to be assessed by an attending vet and handed back into the care of its owner."
