A SCHOOL has warned parents as a busy week of roadworks gets underway.

Motorists driving through Hartford will have to deal with several closures and restrictions this week, causing delays in the area.

According to the Cheshire West and Chester Council website, the A559 Chester Road is closed for a surface treatment programme.

It is set to remain shut until the end of October.

On Monday (January 22), roadworks began on School Lane.

Temporary traffic lights have been set up as work begins on a refurbishment of a toucan crossing near Stones Manor Lane.

Meanwhile, Firdale Road looks set to be shut until February 9 for carriageway surface treatment prep work.

Elsewhere, The Green has been closed for United Utilities Water to repair a leak and is set to reopen on January 25.

Schools in the area have taken to social media to warn parents of the disruption.

“There are a number of active and planned roadworks in Hartford that will affect journeys to school in the next few days,” read a post by The Grange.

Hartford Old School House Nursery posted: “As some of you may be aware there are several road works in and around Hartford this week that will affect journeys to and from nursery.

“Please leave plenty of time for drop off and collection this week.”
