A THREE-DAY yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Chester and Ellesmere Port has started today (Tuesday, January 16).
The warning came into force at midnight today, Tuesday and will last until 11.59pm on Thursday, January 18.
Meteorologists have warned that "a mixture of sleet, snow and ice could cause travel disruption" throughout the week.
There are possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers.
Power cuts may also occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
There will be possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel and a chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
What to expect:
- A small chance that untreated pavements and cycle paths become impassable
- A small chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
