THERE is major disruption this evening (Friday, January 12) as all Wirral Merseyrail services have been suspended.
Due to a points failure at Hamilton Square the Wirral line is disrupted causing major delays to those travelling during rush hour.
The issues have caused delays to all services on the Liverpool loop affecting the Ellesmere Port line, New Brighton line, Chester line and West Kirby line.
Chester and Ellesmere Port will start and terminate at Birkenhead Central. New Brighton and West Kirby will start and terminate at Birkenhead North.
Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Birkenhead Central and Moorfields for Chester/ Ellesmere Port services and between Birkenhead North and Moorfields for New Brighton and West Kirby services.
Disruption is expected until 6.45pm.
