Trains have been delayed and cancelled this afternoon on the Merseyrail network near Chester after a passenger was taken ill.
The incident has been reported at Capenhurst, which has resulted in disruption on the Liverpool-Chester railway line today (Tuesday, January 2).
Merseyrail has confirmed that emergency services were sent to the scene and the train in question had since been on the move.
As a result, services were gradually returning to normal on the network, but there had been further alterations to the timetable.
The number of trains available today had been reduced due to a shortage of train crew.
Elsewhere on the rail network, flooding incidents had caused disruption to other rail operators as a result of Storm Henk.
Avanti West Coast has reported that trains are now moving again between Crewe and Stafford, following earlier flooding, while Transport for Wales is alerting travellers that trains are at a standstill in Gobowen due to flooding.
