CHESTER and Ellesmere Port residents are reminded that due to the festive season, there have been temporary changes made to the bin collection schedule.

Cheshire West and Chester Council have moved collections back by a day so if your bin is normally due to be collected on a Wednesday, it will be collected today (Thursday, December 28).

A council spokesperson said: “All subsequent collections will be displaced by one day, so if you would normally have your bins collected on Thursday, December 28 it will now be Friday, December 29 and so on, until Saturday, January 6.

“If all your recycling does not fit in your recycling container, you may present it securely by the side of your bin/box to be collected on the same day as your other recycling containers.

“Please remember that foil wrapping paper, or paper and cards with glitter on them cannot be recycled.”

The council says bin containers should be out by 7am on the scheduled collection day.

Residents are also reminded that household recycling centres are closed on New Year’s Day.
