FIREFIGHTERS have been dealing with an unsafe structure in Chester city centre this afternoon (Saturday, December 9).
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed they attended the location at Northgate Street to deal with the issue which began this morning.
An area close to the Christmas Markets and Chester Cathedral was made out of bounds to the public while a ladder platform was used as part of the effort to make it safe.
The incident has now concluded but the cordon remains in place.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters are currently dealing with an unsafe structure on Northgate Street in Chester.
"There is a cordon in place and firefighters are using the aerial ladder platform to make the scene safe."
They added: "Firefighters have made the scene safe and will be leaving the incident shortly. A small cordon will remain in place."
