A CHESTER-BASED holiday accommodation provider has picked up a prestigious travel award for the tenth year running.

Sykes Holiday Cottages continued its decade-long winning streak to be named as the ‘Best Large UK Holiday Rental Company’ at the British Travel Awards after securing the most votes from the public.

Huddersfield-based UKcaravans4hire, acquired by Sykes in 2022, was also recognised in the ‘Best Large UK Holiday Rental Company’ and took home the bronze award for the second year running.

Meanwhile, another Sykes brand, Coast and Country Cottages, won silver in the medium sized category, marking the ninth consecutive year that the Devon-based business has been recognised.

The British Travel Awards are the world’s largest customer-voted travel awards, with more than 1.5 million votes making it a record-breaking year for the 2023 awards.

The winners were announced at a ceremony in London last week, with almost 1,000 travel industry representatives coming together for the occasion.

Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes Holiday Cottages said: "We are thrilled to have maintained our unbeaten record for the past decade at the British Travel Awards.

"The awards are voted for by holidaymakers and it’s really all down to our amazing holiday home owners and hard-working colleagues that we have built and maintained this incredible reputation.

"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Sykes family for all that they do, including those based locally in Chester but also throughout the UK and Ireland."

Earlier this year, Sykes achieved B Corp certification, marking a major milestone in the holiday let agency’s ambition to make a positive contribution to its people, the planet, and communities it serves.
