AN unauthorised encampment at a second Chester Park and Ride site is to be ordered to leave.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has confirmed it is to serve a Section 77 notice on the two caravans which have made a Travellers camp at the council-owned Wrexham Road Park and Ride site as of November 30.
A Section 77 notice gives a local authority the power to remove identified individuals from land and requires the involvement of the courts if unauthorised campers do not leave when directed to do so. The return of unauthorised campers and/or their vehicles to the location within three month of the notice being served carries criminal sanctions.
The encampment comes immediately after a court order was obtained at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 30 for 'The Ward family and persons unknown' to leave the Boughton Heath Park and Ride land at Whitchurch Road, Chester.
That encampment had been in place since November 17, and the group had vacated that site that day.
