THE multi-award-winning general manager of Chester FC is to leave the club.

Georgina Slawinski has received recognition after helping to transform the Blues off the pitch, winning a special award at the inaugural Chester Hospitality Association People's Awards in July, and just last week winning the Young Person of the Year Award at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards.

Chester FC, in a statement, said since Georgina had taken up the role in June 2022, she brought with her "a blend of enthusiasm, dedication, and a visionary approach that has helped to reinvigorate the club’s commercial development and brand within the local business community."

Recently re-elected Chair of City Fans United, Kieron Shiel said: “Georgina has been a great asset to the club, especially on the business development side of things, which we were severely lacking as a club when she was appointed.

“During her time as general manager, we have seen a substantial increase in hospitality attendance, partnerships and sponsorships contributing to a notable increase in the club’s overall commercial income.

“In addition, she managed to land our first stadium sponsor in over three years with Leap76 and secured the first Harry Mac stand sponsorship since the club’s reformation.

“The club is in a much stronger position than when Georgina joined us, and the board of directors, working together with our staff and volunteers, will ensure this platform is used to continue driving forward the business.

“We will all miss Georgina’s energy around the building, but once a Seal always a Seal, so I hope to see her in an around on matchdays in the future."

Speaking on her departure, Georgina expressed her deep gratitude for the opportunity to work with Chester FC.

She said: “I am extremely proud to have served as general manager of Chester Football Club over the last 18 months. The opportunity to contribute to the club’s business development, with the support of both the directors and the fanbase, has been a key and rewarding aspect of my tenure.

“As I transition to new business opportunities, I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to the incredible fans and volunteers – the heart of Chester FC.

“Additionally, thank you to our partners and sponsors for their unwavering support. To the directors, I am thankful for this opportunity and to have worked alongside you to drive the club’s commercial growth forward. It has been a pleasure working with you all.

“Chester FC will always be a key part of my professional journey, and I will be rooting for the club to achieve the promotion it deserves.”

Georgina will pursue a new business opportunity while continuing her role within the Premier League.

The football club added the period of transition provides an opportunity for the club to assess its off-field structure to identify where improvements can be made, and it will provide further updates to supporters in due course.
