A TRAIN operator is reintroducing its hourly Chester to Liverpool service next month.

Transport for Wales has announced that, as part of a range of new services being offered from December 10, a number of trains are being added to its services across north and south Wales, and into England.

Among those is the reintroduction of hourly Chester to Liverpool services, via Liverpool Airport, providing another key link between the two cities.

Fifty brand new trains have now joined the fleet overall, with more than 100 set to be introduced on the mainline and Metro networks over the next two years.

Customers on all TfW services should double check their journey times as their usual time may differ.

TfW’s Planning and Performance Director Colin Lea said: “We’re delighted to be introducing new services on key routes in both the north and south of our network in this timetable period.

“The full return of Liverpool-Chester services is now possible following completion of crew training on our new trains.

“The most important thing is to please check your travel details before you travel.”
