A CHESHIRE businesswoman is celebrating receiving two nominations for a national industry award.
Fresh from being nominated for Cheshire Woman of the Year 2023, for professional achievement and community service, Giovanna Wheeler now has her sights set on a potential triumph in a couple of categories at the Hair and Beauty Awards.
Her salon, The Beauty Secret, has been named as a 2024 finalist in the categories of ‘Best New Salon’ and ‘Nail Technician of the Year’.
The Beauty Secret, located on Chester Road in Helsby village, only opened its doors just under two years ago.
Speaking about the nominations, Giovanna said: “I honestly could not have done this without my clients, their support, loyalty and friendship.
“I am feeling extremely lucky to have them. Thank you to all, for making my dreams come true.”
To celebrate The Beauty Secret opening its salon doors in January 2022, Giovanna teamed up with the mental health awareness charity Mind to create a raffle with prizes kindly donated from lots of generous small local businesses, raising more than £200.
Giovanna added that the wellbeing of clients is an important part of day-to-day business at the salon.
She added: “This charity is extremely important to me.
“Here at The Beauty Secret we don’t just use this day to celebrate and talk about our mental health, we celebrate and embrace it at every appointment. The highs, the lows and the in between wavy days protected with absolute confidentiality and no judgment whatsoever.
“Whether you would prefer a quiet appointment or we’re jumping from topic to topic, The Beauty Secret is a safe space with a decent cuppa at the ready.”
