PASSENGERS travelling on the train between Chester and Liverpool are being made aware of changes to the timetable.

As part of the continued roll-out of the new Class 777 trains on to the Merseyrail network, some services have had to be cancelled to allow for drivers to be trained on the new vehicles.

Merseyrail has announced that some of the Chester services which had been cancelled on its Saturday timetable are now being reinstated, but others will be cancelled in their place.

The reinstated services are as follows: Three trains from Chester to Liverpool Central will be reinstated (08:57, 10:42, 12:57). Four trains from Moorfields to Chester will be reinstated (09:41, 11:56, 13:41, 15:26).

The cancelled services are as follows: On Saturdays two trains from Chester to Liverpool will be cancelled (08:27, 12:42). The 10:12 Chester service will start from Rock Ferry at 10:42. From Moorfields to Chester one train will be cancelled (09:11). The 11:41 service from Moorfields will terminate at Birkenhead Central. The 13:26 service from Moorfields will start from Rock Ferry at 13:42.
