TEENAGERS have been caught shoplifting.

Cheshire Police have dealt with a trio of youngsters who were caught stealing from two stores at Winsford Cross Shopping Centre.

PCSO Lewis Railton was on foot patrol at around 11.15am on Monday (October 23) when a shop worker approached him to report that a theft had just occurred.

Following some enquiries, officers were able to locate and detain two 15-year-old female suspects, from Northwich and Chester.

The girls were interviewed and fully admitted to their part in the offence.

A 15-year-old boy from Winsford was also identified and was interviewed under police caution on Saturday afternoon (October 28).

Cheshire Police confirmed all three have since "been dealt with via a community resolution".

A spokesperson for the force added: “This sort of incident proves the value in having patrols visible in the community.

“Winsford BEAT officers patrol on both foot and in vehicles, and from next spring we have acquired two bikes to enable us to get to some harder to reach places more quickly.

“If you have any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour in your area, please report it to us.”
