A RESTAURANT in Oxton has been added to the Michelin Guide just months after it opened.

OXA, at Rose Mount, is run by chef Andrew Sheridan, who opened the business back in May.

It is one of the 15 new restaurants that have joined The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland selection this month, showcasing "high-quality cooking across a range of styles and budgets".

On the Michelin's Guide website, it says: "The pretty suburb of Oxton is home to this attractive neighbourhood bistro which offers an appealing selection of small plates and sharing dishes, as well as an excellent value lunch menu.

"Cooking has a British base and the occasional Asian touch, with dishes such as tuna with dashi and onions providing great depth of flavour.

"There’s a lovely atmosphere about the place and the interesting wine list features almost exclusively British choices."

Andrew Sheridan said: “OXA has only been opened for a few weeks and so for it to be already listed by Michelin is incredible. I’d like to thank head chef Jake Smith and his team for all their hard work.

“We’ve recently changed our menu focusing on local seasonal ingredients, and feedback from customers has been brilliant.”

OXA - formerly the site of Restaurant Fraiche – currently features dishes such as stone bass with mussels and pickled fennel, and lamb with cauliflower, wild garlic and lamb fat carrot.

Andrew is also the owner of restaurant 8 By Andrew Sheridan on Water Street, Liverpool which was also added to the guide earlier this month.
