A WOMAN hit and killed by a train in Cheshire West has been named.
Police, fire crews, and paramedics rushed to Winsford Railway Station at 6.20pm on Wednesday, September 6, after passengers reported a casualty on the tracks.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and has now been named as Samantha Jane Bradley, of St Chad’s Fields, Winsford.
Her identity was confirmed by a British Transport Police fingerprint specialist.
At a short hearing at Cheshire Coroner's Court in Warrington on Wednesday, September 27, area coroner, Victoria Davies, confirmed the 46-year-old was hit by a train.
An inquest was opened and adjourned until March 6, 2023.
Miss Bradley's death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the tracks near Winsford Railway Station at around 6.20pm on Saturday, September 6, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Fire and paramedics also attended, but sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
