A WELL-loved theatre company is set to create a brand new musical, and is on the search for people of all ages to be involved.
Entitled Top of the Tower, this ground-breaking piece of theatre with film and music will be inspired by the stories, memories, thoughts and dreams of a diverse group of people of all ages.
Invited to look out from the top of Chester Cathedral’s mighty tower, people of all ages and backgrounds will be invited to respond with their ideas, words, music and art which will form the basis of the work.

Artistic director of Theatre in the Quarter, Matt Baker, said: “Top of the Tower will be a bold intergenerational community musical theatre project which aims to weave together the stories, folk tales, memories and dreams of a range of people who are invited to look out from the highest point of the city.”
He added: “We will be on the look out for children and adults to take part via our various groups which will start in September.”
Building on its regular programmes and partnerships, the company will engage with young people from different backgrounds, children and adults with additional needs, an intergenerational choir and those for whom Chester is their temporary home.
Those with access issues will be offered an opportunity to see a film which gives a flavour of the same view.
