A nationwide fundraising relay by Supermarket giant Morrisons came to the Saltney store this week.
This was the supermarkets’ first ever nationwide fundraising relay event to raise vital funds for children's hospices and awareness for charity partner Together for Short Lives, and has been running throughout the whole of August.
In just one month, the Together for Short Lives Butterfly has travelled to every Morrisons store and site across the UK, as they come together to try to raise £250,000 to support seriously ill children and their families.
On Tuesday, August 22 Morrisons Saltney received the butterfly and started fundraising. Throughout the week they held events including tombolas, a static bike ride, sponsored silence, and a sponge manager challenge.
The butterfly must travel to the next store in a weird and wonderful way. Dromgoogle supported Morrisons Saltney by arriving at the store in a jaw dropping peaky blinders monster wagon to transport the butterfly.
Morrisons Chester then received the butterfly which commenced their fundraising.
Bonnie Wallis the Community Champion said: “We've had a great week here at Saltney that has been enjoyed by both customers and colleagues in aid of such a fantastic cause. I am so proud of our store achievements and would like to say a big thanks to Dromgoole for their charitable support.”
