A CHESTER-BASED holiday let agency is helping 100 families in need to go on holiday this year.

Sykes Holiday Cottages has partnered with Cheshire-based charity, Time Away, alongside its holiday let owners, to provide free accommodation to families with children that face life-changing health conditions.

It follows a successful pilot scheme last year where Sykes worked with eight property owners to donate free accommodation, with the business rolling the initiative out more widely with an extended pilot in 2023.

Time Away supports families caring for a child with a serious long-term illness or disability who are often struggling financially and emotionally following their child’s life changing diagnosis. By offering families like this a break, Time Away aim to build a stronger more resilient family unit able to provide care long into the future.

Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: "We believe that everyone deserves a break and the chance to spend quality time with their loved ones, regardless of their financial or personal circumstances.

"We're proud to have worked with Time Away to make this a reality for more families this year. A big thanks must go to our amazing owners who have opened up their properties too, helping to provide more families with the opportunity to experience the benefits of travel."

Alex Braun, Founder from Time Away, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Sykes to give some of the families we support the opportunity to enjoy a much-deserved holiday this year.

"At Time Away, we want to help people take a break from some of the daily challenges they may face, and we are committed to making that a reality for those who need it most."
