A POPULAR café in a Cheshire village has closed its doors for good.

Bus Stop café on London Road, Stockton Heath, was a popular breakfast spot for locals, but the bistro has announced its closure due to ‘personal circumstances’.

Established five years ago, the dog-friendly eaterie was taken over by new ownership last year after being put on the market by its previous owners.

The menu had a variety of food on offer including brunch, afternoon tea and a special Valentine’s menu.

Current owners of the café have put up a customer notice sign on the door to state that the venue will now be available to hire for parties and events while they are in the process of looking for a buyer for the business.

The notice said: “Unfortunately, due to staff shortages and personal circumstances, we have taken the hard decision to close the shop.

“The venue will be available to hire for private events and parties whilst we look for a buyer for the business or a new tenant for the property.

“Thank you for your continued support over the past 12 months. It really has been greatly appreciated.”
