AIRBUS are set to give a fascinating insight into their Beluga story at an event next month.

The aircraft specialists, with a site in Broughton, are hosting 'the story of the Beluga' at the Storyhouse in Chester in September.

The one time event will take place on September 6 between 6pm and 7.15pm.

The evening will involve Airbus Head of Beluga Operations Jean-Pierre Cousserans and Head of Transport Operations Philippe Sabo discussing more about how the transporter we see roaming our skies today came to life 29 years ago.

Tickets are priced at £15 and can be purchased on the Storyhouse website.

Paul Kilmister, Airbus Vice President Supply Chain Operations UK said:

“We’re really looking forward to sharing the Beluga story with the wider community. The iconic aircraft has been gracing our skies for 29 years, so it’s long overdue! Broughton is the home of Airbus wings, and the Beluga is a key part of our operation in flying those wings to our final assembly lines. So we thought, what better place to host the story of the Beluga?

"On the night, guests will hear from our Head of Beluga Operations Jean-Pierre Cousserans and Head of Transport Operations Philippe Sabo who are the masterminds behind the Beluga. They’ll share their insights into our Beluga operation, how it came about, the design and what it’s like to fly the largest cargo aircraft in the world."
