THE popular Plant Hunters' Fair will return to Cholmondeley Castle and Gardens next month.

The event will be held on Wednesday, August 2, and Cholmondeley Castle is offering a special reduced entry price of £5 (normally £8.50).

This will include entry to the gardens as well as the plant fair.

Martin Blow, of Plant Hunters' Fairs, said: “Our plant fairs at Cholmondeley Castle Garden are always popular with plant lovers.

"It’s such a friendly atmosphere and the nurseries are excited to be returning.

"There will be a brilliant line-up of the best independent plant nurseries including RHS gold medal winners from near and far with plants to delight all garden lovers.

“The nurseries will be pulling out all the stops to bring plants that will perk up your patios and beautify your borders.

"There will be something for every style of garden and so many colourful flowers to buy that you’ll need your sunglasses to save being dazzled.

"If you need any help selecting the right plants for your garden the nursery folk are always happy to share their knowledge and experience.”

Cholmondeley Castle Gardens is said by many to be among the most romantically beautiful gardens they have seen.

The Gothic revival castle - a product of the early 19th century - stands on a high rise above a lake and is surrounded by sweeping lawns and a variety of mature trees.

Dogs on leads are welcome. Refreshments are available from the garden café or bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds.

The gardens are located between the A41 and A49, near Malpas.

The plant fair runs from 10am-5pm on Wednesday, August 2.
