A PRE-SCHOOL on the outskirts of Chester is celebrating after its latest Ofsted report.

Waverton Pre-school has received a Good rating this week, following a recent inspection that scrutinised the quality of care and standards at the community provision.

The pre-school was established in 1967 and has operated as a not-for-profit charitable trust in the grounds of Waverton Primary School for 24 years.

It educates 32 children from the ages of two-four years old each week.

The report, which was published today (Wednesday, July 12), said: “The air is filled with laughter and chatter as children busily explore the stimulating activities that capture their attention.”

Pre-school manager, Amanda Corbett, said: “I’m so proud of how our team has pulled together for the inspection, but above all we’re proud of our children.

"We believe each child is unique and when they arrive curious and excited at what they’re going to discover each day, we’re committed to fulfilling that curiosity with fun adventures.

“We have an experienced team and a enjoy a great location at the heart of the community and in the grounds of the primary school, with 17 of our children making up the 2023 reception intake for Waverton Primary this year.

"It’s a symbiotic relationship that we hope will endure for years to come.

“Supporting our day-to-day provision for the children is a focused and ambitious committee of charitable trustees who help us deliver the best for our children and raise additional funds to boost our provision.”

Other highlights of the report included the great outdoor spaces, careful transitioning arrangements for those going to Waverton Primary School and the good behaviour and curiosity of the children.

Waverton Pre-School has places available for its September 2023 intake and has started making places available for 2024-2025 school year.
