A MAN who invaded the pitch at a Chester FC game and threw a flare has been handed a three-year Football Banning Order.

Aidrian Callaghan, 34, of Oak Road, Chester, pleaded guilty at the first opportunity at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 7 to the two offences, which happened at the Deva Stadium in Chester FC's 0-0 draw against Chorley on April 7.

As part of the three-year Football Banning Order, Callaghan is banned from attending any football match in the UK, and can be required to surrender his passport for when England play matches abroad.

He is also prohibited from being in the boundary of the Deva Stadium, or from any Cheshire ground involving Chester FC, from two hours before a Chester FC match to two hours after the game ends.

For matches involving Chester FC outside of Cheshire, Callaghan is prohibited from being in that town or city from two hours before kick-off to two hours after the game ends.

Callaghan was also fined £80 and ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs.
