A MAN suspected of being a cannabis farmer has been arrested after a police raid uncovered a grow in Cheshire.
A warrant was executed by officers from Cheshire Police’s Northern Problem Solving Team at around 7.30am on Friday at a house on Brook Terrace, Runcorn.
As a result, officers recovered 34 cannabis plants, along with equipment used in the production of the class B controlled drug.
A 34-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and has since been released on bail.
After the raid, sergeant Kate Middleton said: “Following enquiries, our officers were able to quickly identify that this property was being used for cannabis cultivation.
“We have now been able to seize a large quantity of drugs, preventing them from being distributed on the streets of Runcorn.

“Illegal drugs can have a devastating impact on our communities, and I ask anyone who suspects a property is being used to cultivate cannabis to call us on 101.”
The force says there are a number signs that could indicate that a property is being used as a cannabis farm, including a strong and sickly sweet smell.
Other indicators are constantly covered windows, people constantly coming and going, even at unsociable hours, or neighbours you never see.
Strong and constant lighting day and night is also an indicator, as is high levels of heat and condensation, the constant buzz of ventilation and lots of power cables.
Anyone who may have any information in relation to the discovery on Brook Terrace is encouraged to call Cheshire Police on 101.
Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
