A DISPERSAL order has again been issued for Chester city centre after reports of anti-social behaviour.

Chester Police have said that as of yesterday (Wednesday, March 22) PCs and PCSOs in Chester will have powers to exclude individuals from the area, with the order to run until Friday, March 24.

It will be the fourth time that a dispersal order has been implemented in the city centre so far this year, with the measure being taken on both February 14 and February 28 and similar but wider reaching measures put in place for Chester FC's match against Banbury United on March 4.

Dispersal orders are issued under Section 35 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and make it an offence for anyone to return to a specific area for up to 48 hours.

Speaking ahead of a February dispersal order, Inspector James Wilson said: "I want to be clear that we will do everything we can do to crackdown on this activity and our communities should not have to put up with anti-social behaviour."

Anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour can report this to Cheshire Police by calling 101 or by visiting the 'Report it' section of the constabulary's website.
