A CHESTER mum with cancer was part of a star-studded event this week promoting a charity giving hope to those affected by secondary breast cancer.

Kimberly Noble, 44, was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2018, and embarked on an intensive treatment programme straight away, having 16 rounds of chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy.

The mum to seven-year-old Charlie and wife of Sean was told in September that year the cancer had gone.

But sadly, in February 2020, Kimberly was diagnosed with secondary metastatic breast cancer, also known as metastatic, advanced or stage IV breast cancer, which is when breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body. It can be treated, but not cured.

Since then, Kimberly, who lives in Hoole, has gone through more radiotherapy and is now, three years on, on stable scans showing no sign of the disease.

Chester mum Kimberly Noble is one of the founders of the Fighting to be Heard charity which supports women living with secondary breast cancer.

As part of Kimberly's journey of living with cancer, she became part of a group of women who have been part of an inspirational campaign.

She said: "In September 2020 I met a group of ladies who are now know as the Fighting to be Heard campaign – #fightingtobeheard.

"We launched the campaign in 2021 in Manchester with Real Housewives of Cheshire Seema Malhotra coming along to support us.

"She promised to keep fighting for us and boy did she keep that promise."

A star-studded event to help launch the Fighting to be Heard charity, for which Kimberly is one of the founders, was held on Tuesday, March 14 at the Menagerie Restaurant & Bar in Manchester, backed by womenswear brand Forever Unique, owned by Seema Malhotra.

More than 200 guests were in attendance, including the women who form the Fighting to be Heard charity, plus Helen Flanagan, Brooke Vincent, Sally Dynevor, Bhanvna Limbachia and Real Housewives of Cheshire Stars; Rachel Lugo, Hanna Kinsella, Nicole Sealey and Lauren Simon. Proceeds from ticket sales went towards the new charity.

'Warriors'

Previously, the Fighting to be Heard campaign formed a powerful advertising campaign to raise awareness of incurable secondary breast cancer will a billboard advert featuring 20 female secondary breast cancer patients.

Sadly, five of the women featured in that campaign have since passed away: Emily Roberts (30), Suzanne Williamson (41), Cathy Snape (56), Vicki Keating (32) and Sally Nyland (46).

Around 35,000 patients in the UK are currently living with this form of the disease which kills 1,000 women each month in the UK.

Showing their support at the event, actress Bhanvna Limbachia said: “I’m honoured to be supporting the Fighting To Be Heard foundation who amplify the voices of those affected by secondary breast cancer. To all those warriors, I salute you!”

'Strong and inspiring women'

Coronation street star Sally Dynevor said: “I know many women don’t feel their voices are being heard. Fighting To Be Heard is providing vital education and support to patients and their families to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer. The charity helps fund critical secondary breast cancer research and facilitates access to patient trials which has had a significant impact on the lives of many.”

Actress Brooke Vincent said: “I feel so honoured to be in a room full of inspirational people and support such an important cause.”

Actress Helen Flanagan said: “I admire the advocates of The Fighting To Be Heard charity, it was amazing to meet such strong and inspiring women.”

The event follows on from the successful Forever Unique x Fighting To Be Heard International Women’s Day campaign that shined the light on the plight of women diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and how this disease claims thousands of lives each year, Forever Unique shared the stories of these women, educated their followers and urged people to donate.

Showcasing all advocates of The Fighting To Be Heard charity, the event featured a modern fashion show and an exclusive performance from former Atomic Kitten singer Natasha Hamilton, who was recently confirmed as joining the Real Housewives of Cheshire programme.

Reality TV star and founder of Forever Unique Seema said: “I’m honoured to support the Fighting To Be Heard Foundation, I have grown to know each of these women personally and I admire every single one of them and their incredible stories. I am so glad that we are able to use our platform to raise awareness and give these women an even bigger voice.”
