VAUXHALL Motors FC held a memorial service prior to their fixture against Lower Breck FC on Saturday, March 4, to remember those who helped shape the club's history.

Local figures such as Justin Madders attended the ceremony, as well as former chairman, Lord Tony Woodley. They were joined by Chairman, Jon Waring, Director of Football, Matty Mowat, former Vauxhalls players, and the families of those whose lives have been celebrated through the installation of new memorial benches.

The benches bear the names of former Club Secretary, Ken Triggs, who sadly passed away in 2021, Alan Bartlam, former Chairman, who passed in 2020, as well as Brian Paisey, Derek Mathers and Lyn Bartlam.

The club have thanked Gordale Garden and Home Centre, Neston, for supplying the bench and life member Len Jones, who raised funds for the commemorative seating with a charity bike ride.

The benches will be located at the VanEupen Arena, one outside the Club Office, and one outside the Sports and Social Club.

Vauxhall Motors went on to mark the occasion with a stunning 6-1 win over the team from Tuebrook.
