AN INTERIOR stylist celebrated her 50th birthday by helping her local British Heart Foundation (BHF) home store in Chester make the most of its furniture donations.

Managing Director of Stanza Style, Alex Egan, joined by her husband Steve, spent the day styling the BHF store, using her interior design skills and knowledge to dress window displays, colour match products, and highlight featured items.

Alex said she was ‘amazed’ at how busy the shop was and how quickly items were snapped up by customers.

Alex shared her interior design tips and tricks with the BHF team in Chester and even donated some of her own items from Stanza Style Interiors, where Alex assists with designing show homes for property developers.

"I wanted to feel good on my birthday by giving back," said Alex. "So rather than spending the day at work, I decided to volunteer with the BHF. It is such a busy shop and I loved meeting the team and putting my skills to good use.

"It was great to see how quickly items were being sold and I was impressed to see how quickly the team of staff and volunteers moved to restyle the stock they have. The BHF always needs quality donations, so if you have items in storage or are having a clear out, drop them off or arrange a collection with the BHF."

Nigel Marston, area manager at the BHF said: "Having Alex spend her 50th birthday with us was invaluable and we hope she enjoyed celebrating with the team here. Despite it being Alex’s birthday, she generously gifted us the gift of her time, skills and knowledge for which we are very grateful. We always welcome volunteers like Alex who want to put their skills to use and support the BHF. Please pop by the store or get in touch if you’d like to find out more."
