THERE is heavy traffic on A483 both ways between A55 J38 (Posthouse Roundabout) and J6 A5156 (Gresford Interchange) on day five of nine week roadworks.

Today, Friday February 10, marks day five of the nine week roadworks taking place on the A483 between J7 Rossett to the Wales/England border.

Traffic Mid and North Wales has reported that there is slow moving traffic travelling in both directions this morning.

Current travel times are approximately eight minutes Northbound and 13 minutes Southbound.

Traffic Mid and North Wales have advised drivers to "plan ahead and allow additional travel time if you're travelling in the area."

This comes following several issues along the A483 over previous days including an eight hour extended closure which caused traffic chaos on diversion routes on Tuesday, February 7.

Traffic Wales confirmed on Tuesday morning that due to "unforeseen circumstances" there had been a delay in re-opening the A483 following major resurfacing works at Rossett which was understood to be open at 6am but didn't reopen until around 2pm.

On Wednesday, February 8, a stretch of A483 was forced to close following a train fire directly below the carriageway near Wrexham General.

There were no reported injuries and it was believed to have been caused by a hydraulic fault.

Yesterday, Thursday, February 9, there was also very slow moving traffic in the morning which continued over periods throughout the day.
