POLICE investigating an 11-year-old child's threats to stab another 11-year-old have recovered a knife.
Officers in Winsford were tipped off that the stab threats made had been made on social media.
Enquiries this afternoon then led to a utility knife being found in a bush, where it is believed to have been left by the suspect.
Further investigation will now take place and a police spokesman confirmed the young suspect will be interviewed about the incident.
The spokesman added: "Today, Winsford Beat officers received information that an 11-year-old child had made some threats via social media to stab another 11-year-old.
"As a result of enquiries this afternoon, the knife pictured was recovered from a bush where it was believed to have been left by the suspect.
"An investigation will now take place and the suspect will be interviewed with an appropriate adult present.
"Please speak to your children about the dangers of carrying weapons.
"Cheshire Police conduct regular inputs in primary schools and high schools about a variety of topics, which includes the danger that knives can pose.
"As parents please ensure that you are taking the time to educate your children and report any concerns that you have to us."
