HERE is a first look at the development set to transform a Cheshire town’s biggest eyesore.
The former Packet House on the corner of Bridge Street at Bridge Foot used to be one of Warrington’s most popular drinking spots.
It was well-loved by everyone in Warrington until the last landlady Ethel Smith retired in 1976.
It has had numerous rebrands and relaunches since including Tiger Tiger and Bar Zero, but it closed in the early 2000s.
Since then, the building has fallen into such disrepair that it has been labelled as ‘dying of shame’.
Now it is set to be turned into a 66-house residential scheme over six floors with a commercial ground floor, subject to planning.
The residential development in the heart of the town centre will be for sale by public online auction by Town & Country Property Auctions on March 31, 2023 with bidding open from 10am to 12pm.
It is listed on RightMove with an eye-watering guide price of £1,750,000.
