A CHESHIRE school is preparing its production of popular musical based on a much-loved award-winning film.

Students at The Grange Senior School in Hartford near Northwich will take to the stage this month for a special production of Ghost - The Musical.

Based on the Osar winning film which famously starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg and featuring the iconic song 'Unchained Melody', Ghost - The Musical was adapted for the stage by the film's original award-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin and features music and lyrics by pop legend Dave Stewart together with Glen Ballard.

For those who've not seen the nineties classic, Ghost tells the story of Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely death. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death.
