ART Box, a professional gallery for emerging artists in Boughton, Chester has joined forces with The Wine School of Cheshire for a host of joint events.

Supported by Academy West, who will provide a signature five-course tasting menu and canapes for evening service, The Wine School took the decision to collaborate with Art Box whilst on the look out for a unique venue for its customers.

"Rick Nieto, the patron of Art Box, has been a customer of the wine school for a number of years and knew I was looking for new premises. Rick suggested the art gallery could be the ideal location which, indeed, it is proving to be," said Richard Smith of The Wine School.

"The gallery is easy to get to, on the outskirts of Chester and our customers are enjoying tasting wine accompanied by delicious foods while surrounded by amazing art created by local artists from in and around the Chester area."

Liz Dunning, Manager and Curator of Art Box, said: "The marriage between Art Box and The Wine School of Cheshire has brought new-found interest to our community gallery from the patrons of the wine school. Indeed, we have been delighted how popular the events have been. Our tables are designed to seat couples but we have found everyone to be sociable between tables as they enjoy the delicious wine and food amongst the displays of fantastic artwork created by emerging local artists."

Where possible, Academy West sources its produce for the tasting menus and canapes from Cheshire and the surrounding areas including a quality butcher on the outskirts of Ellesmere Port. Each food item is made by the students, from scratch.

"The tasting menu is designed to complement the selection of wines from a particular country, or with a certain theme," says Richard.

"Both the teams at Art Box and ourselves are thrilled to be supporting another career path for young students in the area by teaming up with Academy West. The tasting menus and canapes pair with our wines exceptionally well."

Interested parties can book tables for up to six with private parties available to book with up to 12 people.

The Wine School of Cheshire events take place on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7pm – 9pm and on Saturdays from 12noon – 5pm. With forthcoming themes including ‘Big reds before Bonfire Night’ on Thursday, November 3 to ‘Discover New Zealand’ on Friday, November 4 – to a South African-themed tasting menu lunch on Saturday, November 5.
