THE chance to own a pub has arisen after a venue in Wirral is currently listed for sale.

The beachfront pub, The Ship Hotel on Victoria Parade, is located just a stone’s throw away from New Brighton promenade and is ready to be taken over with a pub manager already running the business.

The 2,700 sqft property is currently on sale for £220,000 on Rightmove with Karl Tatler Estate Agents.

The Karl Tatler listing reads: "Public house for sale! The Ship Hotel is ready and available. To be sold with a long-term tenant on site. Located just off the promenade on the very buoyant Victoria Parade, New Brighton."

The Ship Hotel has received many highly rating reviews on TripAdvisor, with visitors describing it as an “excellent” and “fantastic” pub.

One review left by Clivelillie in September 2019 said: “Grounded, roomy and great for the match.

“Where has THIS place been all my life? Can’t believe I’d never been. I plan to return ‘recurringly’. Good old boozer near enough at the bottom of Vicky Rd, possibly getting a well-needed increase in action since new Brighton begin to bloom again. Screens everywhere. Drinks cheap to the point I thought I’d woke up in 1998.”

Another five-star review from Stephen Kelly from June 2021 said: “The Ship is an excellent pub in New Brighton that offers extremely cheap beers and is a great pub to watch live sport.

“An old pub dating from at least 1870 when it was called the Commercial and then renamed in 1956 to its present name.

“A freehold pub the Ship has had a refurbishment and with the emphasis on live sport there are lots of TV screens throughout the whole pubs interior and in an unused room, the owner added a sports room with a pool table and dart boards.

“I remember coming here a few years ago and the Ship was a tired-looking pub but it looks fantastic now with a fresh look and feels and superb seating options throughout the whole pub.”
