The Saturday Series are fun and engaging Saturday sessions to make the move from primary to secondary school a smooth process for everyone.

Happy girls make the best learners, and with that in mind, The Queen’s School in Chester has designed a brand-new transition programme for girls in Years 4, 5 and 6, to ensure pupils joining Year 7 feel confident and excited for the next stage of their education.

As parents, you want the best for your child, and Queen’s knows that a confident, happy child becomes a more successful, accomplished adult. Indeed, studies show that on average, happy people are more successful at work and love, receive better performance reviews, have more prestigious jobs, and earn higher salaries.

Equally important is your sanity in supporting your child through this process because as you already know, the guilt parents can feel about making such an important decision can be enormous.

Moving from primary school to secondary school is always something that parents worry about for their children. Will they make friends? Will they get lost? Will they like their teachers? The Saturday Series is designed to ease girls into life at Queen’s gradually and make them feel more familiar with the Senior School.

Girls will get the chance to take part in six new and exciting activity mornings during their time in Years 4-6 so by the time they join Year 7, they are relaxed and ready to learn, and equally important, have made friends and know the caring teachers. It also enables parents to have informed discussions with their child about how they feel about the school, as visiting for an open day cannot provide a full experience.

While academic rigour is important, Queen’s believes in balance and in creating an environment that provides opportunities to facilitate and reinforce positive habits that will help girls thrive. It focuses on providing an education that goes well beyond the classroom and sets them up for life, confident in themselves and ready to face the future.

From running their own clubs and activities, and experiencing fantastic trips, through to taking part in the vast range of extracurricular offerings, every girl is supported to realise her full potential. All of this, combined with a small, nurturing family environment, where every pupil truly is known by their teachers, accounts for why Queen’s has won so many accolades.

From pastoral and academic excellence to their gold standard careers provision, Queen’ delivers on its promises.

So, what better way to experience Queen’s than the launch of this fantastic programme of events. The Saturday Series starts this November and early registration is recommended as it will prove popular with both parents and children alike.

The first session is for girls in Years 5 and 6 and is a language-themed event called ‘Explore the World’ involving Mandarin, French and Spanish activities.
