THE Mayor of Neston, Cllr Pat Kynaston, and Councillors of Neston Town Council have invited residents to take part in an event to mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The National Moment of reflection is to be observed on Sunday September 18 at 8.00pm with the Mayor informing locals that they are welcome to attend the grounds of Neston Parish Church where people will be gathering. The one-minute silence is to take place night before the Queen's state funeral, which will be held at Westminster Abbey on Monday morning.
Many may wish to mark the this privately at home, with friends and family, out on doorsteps or in the street with neighbours.
The Queen's body has today (Wednesday, September 14) been moved from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where she will lie in state until the morning of the funeral. Around 400,000 people are expected to attend to pay their respects.
Details of larger-scale public events to be held across the country will be published at: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/her-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii.
