STUDENTS’ artwork will be on display in an underground subway in Winsford for passers-by to admire and enjoy.

Level three graphic design students from Warrington and Vale Royal College produced a series of artwork after researching the industrious history of Winsford.

They visited various cultural hotspots and iconic buildings such as local pubs, churches and waterways.

More than 25 pieces of work were created which are intended to be displayed in a subway for passers-by to admire and enjoy.

Students and tutors came together to celebrate their achievement at the college’s Winsford campus last month and were delighted to be joined by Winsford Town Councillor Laura Whitehead.

Karisme Singh, level three graphic design student, created a piece of work inspired by Winsford’s St Chad’s Church and the surrounding conspiracy theory that it was picked up and moved by the devil.

The college is thrilled to share the success of Karisme, who is progressing on to study graphic design at the University of Chester in September.

Jayne Fox, curriculum manger: media, games and graphics at the college, said: “The students spent a lot of time on this project, but it was all worth it!

“They had to liaise with partnering companies which was a great experience to take forward with them.

“They’ve produced some excellent work to a professional and high-quality standard.”
