With temperatures set to reach up to 29 degrees this week, here's where you can cool off with the kids this summer in Cheshire West.

For those who want a taste of those lazy pool days on the continent, there are lidos and outdoor pools throughout Cheshire West which can bring some summer fun to your week, and help you make the most of the hot weather.

Congleton Paddling Pool

Carefully maintained by Congleton Town Council, this outdoor pool has been a firm favourite since the 1930s. Found on Park Road, CW12 1DP, the pool will be open from May 28 to September 4, but spaces must be booked in advance.

This pool is for the use of young children and toddlers who must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings are free but both parents or guardians and their children must be included in ticket numbers.

There are 140 tickets available for each session, with the pool open from Wednesday - Sunday, for two sessions a day (10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm). Further information can be found on the Congleton Town Council website.

Nantwich Swimming Pool and Gym

Similar to Congleton's pool, Nantwich's Outdoor Brine Pool first opened to the public in the 1930s. The 30m pool on Wall Lane is perfect for families with adult's and children's tickets available.

The facility is open from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am - 5.30pm Saturday and Sunday. Sessions include General Swim, Lane Swimming and Aquafit Sessions.

Adult tickets are £5.80, with Junior and OAP tickets £4.80 and under 3s going for free. Everybody Members are also able to use the pool for free.

Church Walk Paddling Pool

Another option for those with small children is Church Walk Paddling Pool in Northwich. Set within parkland and surrounded by trees, this oasis is perfect for a relaxed afternoon.

Once again, everyone attending the pool is required to book in advance and walk-ins are not possible. Any children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The paddling pool is open seven days a week from May 28 until early September with two sessions a day available. These are from 10am - 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Tickets and FAQs can be found on the Northwich Town Council website.

Sandy Lane Park and Aqua Park

Sandy Lane Park is another firm favourite for local families, situated around two and a half miles east of Chester city centre, on the banks of the River Dee.

Its Aqua Park includes a 10 feature spray facility and a grass picnic area where kids can keep cool in the sunshine.

Sandy Lane is open seven days a week from 11am - 5pm, with a closure for maintenance typically falling between 1pm - 3pm.

The area is open until Sunday, September 4.
