A MULTI-million-pound science attraction is currently in the works and set to open in Wallasey this autumn.
The former Spaceport attraction in Seacombe is being transformed into the North West’s newest visitor experience, Eureka! Science + Discovery.
The space will be filled with interactive and educational exhibits for young people aged between six to 14, with a separate under-five area.
Split into three sections of home, nature, and body the attraction will feature giant installations including a climbing tree, brain, sun, and tap.
Members of the public will also be able to catch sight of Wirral’s most famous moggy in all its 12ft feline glory.

The Globe was given a sneak peek behind the scenes at Eureka! Science + Discovery this week to see and hear about all the weird and wonderful installations that will be on offer.
Tobias Lumb, Project Director at Eureka! Science + Discovery, told the Globe: “The overwhelming response to the announcement of Eureka! Science + Discovery coming to Wallasey has been a positive one.
“The transformation of the building and what we are doing inside it has been quite marked.”
The £11.4m attraction has been funded by several partners, including a £6.4m grant from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund.
Tobias said: “From Eureka’s point of view they’ve been looking at possibilities and opportunities to expand in different parts of the country.
“What was exciting about this prospect was the impact that it could have in Wirral and how it could be used to transform the local area.
“It’s about how organisations and attractions can deliver out to communities as much as bring visitors to that place.
“The more people we can bring to an area the more positive impact it can have on that area.
“We are creating a facility for the local community as well as bringing footfall from across the country.”
Eureka! Science + Discovery has been co-created with young people, local communities and partners across the Liverpool City Region, and aims to breathe fun into key STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) subjects through a range of exhibits and experiences, with new additions currently being installed every day by contractors and delivery partners Workhaus and Cod Steaks.
