A WOMAN attacked an emergency service worker after being arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour during the Jubilee celebrations.

Nicola Lehane was taken into custody on Thursday, June 2 - the day the Platinum Jubilee celebrations began - following an incident in Witton Street, Northwich.

The 40-year-old, of Holly Grove, Tabley, was then taken to the Middlewich Custody Suite where she assaulted a detention officer while she was doing her job.

On July 28, at Chester Magistrates Court, Lehane pleaded guilty to two charges relating to her drunken behaviour and one charge of assaulting an emergency worker.

Taking her guilty pleas into account, magistrates sentenced Lehane to a community order.

This involves a six-month alcohol treatment plan and 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

She was also fined £120 for the offences and must pay £100 in compensation.

The court also ordered Lehane to pay £85 in court costs and a £95 surcharge.
