THREE fire crews were called out to a crash in a village in Cheshire West.

Firefighters attended the scene in Westage Lane, Great Budworth, shortly after 4pm on Thursday, July 28.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A car overturned, resting on its roof, leaving one casualty trapped in the vehicle.

"A second casualty was able to get out themselves. Firefighters extricated the casualty from the vehicle once they had been assessed by paramedics.

"The road was closed in both directions as the crews worked to remove the casualty from the car and hand them over to the paramedics.

They then made the vehicle safe and handed the incident over to the police.
