THE family of a teenage boy who died following a collision in Cheshire have paid tribute to him.

Ben Smith, 17, from Irlam, Warrington, was involved in a collision on Holcroft Lane, Culcheth, at about 9.30pm on Monday, July 18.

Sadly, Ben passed away at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

In a joint tribute, his family said: “08/03/2005 - 18/07/2022 - Ben Smith

“The kind hearted boy who made everyone laugh. He was deeply loved and will be missed by so many people.

“Funeral details to follow. Family request privacy at this time. Always loved but never forgotten.

“A loving Son and Brother Xxxx.”

Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen a moped and another motorbike around the time of the incident to come forward.

The same goes to anyone who may dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
