AS temperatures are predicted to soar across the UK later this week, Wirral Globe asked their Neston readers to tell us their favourite things do around the town in the hot weather. 

Walk through Parkgate

Parkgate is a village on the Wirral Peninsula on the banks of the River Dee, adjoining 100 square kilometres of salt marsh. This hot spot is popular with the locals in Neston as it is good for walking and has plenty of pubs and cafes along its seafront.

Visit Wirral Way

This twelve-mile route is at the most Westerly edge of Cheshire in Neston. It is perfect for regular walkers who want some shady paths out of the sun as it is an easy-going route which is suitable to most abilities, so a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors.

Go to The Harp Inn

This Friendly, real ale pub sits on the banks of the Dee Marshes with wonderful views overlooking North Wales. The Harp Inn is situated in Little Neston and has outdoor seating for pub goers to soak up the sun.

Grab an ice cream at Nicholls ice cream in Parkgate

There is nothing better then grabbing an ice cream on a hot summer's day. Locals have named ‘Nicholls Ice Cream’ as the best ice cream spot in parkgate!

Take a trip to Ness Gardens

These beautiful gardens cover some 64 acres, houses a living collection of 15,000 plants many of which were early introductions from China, the Himalayas, Tibet and Burma. There is also a Garden Kitchen Café for a light bite, meal or sweet treat.

Head down to Nets Cafe for a bacon butty 

Net's cafe is a great hotspot for cyclists with lots of outdoor seating. Locals enjoy sitting outside in the sunshine for either a nice breakfast or a huge slice of cake.
