POLICE have launched an appeal following a serious sexual assault.

The incident is believed to have taken place sometime between 4.40am and 5.30am on Friday, July 8,

The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was walking through a park before she was approached by two unknown men who sexually assaulted her.

Both men then fled the scene.

The first offender is described as white, around 5’6” to 5’8” tall, aged around 15/16, of slim build with blonde hair faded on the sides with a longer cut on the top and no facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a light grey tracksuit.

The second male was white, around 5’6” to 5’8” tall, aged around 17 to 18, of medium to stocky build. At the time he was wearing black skinny fit jeans.

There are a number of enquiries ongoing and patrols are being stepped up in the in Tipkinder Park area of Crewe.

The victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Duncan Gouck said: “I know that this incident will be of great concern to the community of Crewe but I can assure you that we are doing all we can to find those responsible.

“Patrols have been stepped up over recent days and several enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“I would urge anyone who may have any concerns to please raise them with our officers.

“We are conducting a number of enquiries including CCTV in and around the surrounding areas of Tipkinder Park.

“Following further enquiries, we believe that the offenders may have been part of a group around the time of the incident.

“As part of our enquiries, I would ask anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage and has not yet spoken to officers to please do so.

“I am also asking anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, may have seen something that didn’t look quite right or may have information to please get in touch with us. Any information, no matter how big or small, could assist in our investigation.”
