THE first public venue at Chester's long-awaited Northgate Development has officially opened its doors.
All-day restaurant and bar Cosy Club has opened at The Arcade on Northgate Street.
The latest addition to Chester's booming food and drink scene is located within the terracotta façade of the former Westminster Coach and Carriage Works, first built in 1914, and the interior design takes inspiration from this, with motoring memorabilia within the cabinets and artwork.
Cosy Club, a brand owned by Loungers, serves British, European and Asian dishes, with a nod to North America at brunch.
Loungers was founded in 2002 by a trio of long-standing friends, Dave Reid, Alex Reilley and Jake Bishop, who simply fancied somewhere to drink themselves and set up their first venue in Bristol in 2002.
The first Cosy Club followed in Taunton in 2010 and more have followed in the years since.
The new Chester Cosy Club has created about 60 new jobs for the city.
For the restaurant's opening month in Chester, 50p from every burger and 20p from every coffee will be donated to partnered charity UK Youth, to support their important work with young people.

The rest of Chester's Northgate Development is due to open in the coming months, featuring six-screen cinema Picturehouse, the new Chester Market, cafés, more bars and restaurants, a new multi-storey car park and office spaces.
There will also be a new public square linking the new market hall, Storyhouse and Chester Town Hall.
